You can Make your own James.
Burry a bottle at a steep angle into the ground and place bread in the bottom . The mice/voles will fall in but cannot climb out again.

It's not wise to do this when very cold or wet weather is expected, and make sure you check your traps reguarly

cheers,
Al

Good luck mate,
You know, i'm not sure about hibernation. I'm pretty sure that most of our rodents do not hibernate as such , just hide away in extra cold weather.

Cheers

Check traps frequently, and put a drainage hole and dry grass in the bottom. Nervous high metab mammals like shrews will stress out and die fairly quickly in traps

James,

Foxes are now as much an urban as rural creature. If there are them in your local woods they probably wander round your town, at least on the outskirts, as well.

Staggering back in the early hours from parties in Bournemouth in the early 1970s we used to see any amount of foxes trotting up people's drives and in through their gates. They probably had no idea what was in their gardens

Where I live - small East Devon town - they will come in nightly but in larger towns they actually live within the town. We have lots of badgers in our town and I get them in my garden.

They like cat biscuits...but so do the local cats :P

I get foxes in front and rear gardens every night, and I live in a town. They sometimes sleep in the middle of the lawn, or under one of the cars.

I've tried to take pictures of them by standing still while they hoover up a few cat biscuits, but its very hard to get a good night-shot. Their eyes are so reflective !

A water feature could attract them, they would remember a reliable source of drinking water, and it might attract the amphibians too ! (I guess they might eat the odd frog though?).
